With decades of experience in Mae Hong Son, we are keen to share some of our preferred excursions and experiences with you. These may be booked in advance by any guest with a secured reservation at either villa. If you have a particular field of interest, do let us know and we will be happy to propose some tailor-made trips for you.

A Sense of Place

Traditional Rice Paddy Lunch

Enjoy a northern Thai lunch in a rice farmer's traditional paddy hut. We will lead you along the narrow, muddy tracks that separate the quilted rice fields to a local farmer's shelter. Here, spread on woven straw mats on the floor, you will dip into a variety of local favourites, whilst surrounded by tropical fruit and herbs, palm trees, and paddies stretching to the mountainside...

Jungle trekking

Jungle treks can be arranged to suit the time you have available, and in a manner that matches your preferences, age groups etc. Treks can be arranged for those who simply wish to have an experience of forest life, or more challenging treks of one day or more may be tailored for those who are physically fit and who do not mind the discomfort of living in the wild.

Pai River Rafting or Boating

White-water rafting down the river surrounded by thick jungle can be a thrilling experience in season. Gentler boat rides are also available for those who simply wish to admire the pristine views in greater comfort. Guests interested in longer boating trips (1-3 full days) are best advised to contact us in advance with your proposed dates of stay, so we can recommend routes best-suited to the river conditions.

Thai or Northern Thai cooking lessons

Visit a local open-air food market with us before learning to make some of your favourite dishes. You will enjoy hands-on experience in cooking meals from scratch, and can choose from traditional Thai dishes, as found across the world, or local northern Thai specialties that generally involve the use of indigenous herbs and spices.

These lessons are best timed so that you can then enjoy your creations for lunch or dinner at the villa.

Private Guide Service with Vehicle

We will be happy to pair you up with a local English-speaking guide who knows the area very well, is used to the roads, and will be happy to show you the region in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. This service may be booked by the day or week, and is particularly popular with guests who plan to travel on to Pai along the infamously twisty road that can catch first time drivers of it off-guard.
